I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever spends a pair of anything in the way of Allah will be called from the gates of Paradise, 'Servant of Allah, this is good.' Whoever was among the people of prayer will be called from the gate of prayer. Whoever was among the people of jihad will be called from the gate of jihad. Whoever was among the people of charity will be called from the gate of charity. Whoever was among the people of fasting will be called from the gate of fasting and the gate of Rayyan."Abu Bakr said, "The one called from any of these gates would suffer no loss. But will anyone be called from all of them, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "Yes, and I hope that you will be among them, Abu Bakr."
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: من أنفق زوجين من شيء من الأشياء في سبيل الله دعي من أبواب- يعني: الجنة- يا عبد الله هذا خير، فمن كان من أهل الصلاة دعي من باب الصلاة، ومن كان من أهل الجهاد، دعي من باب الجهاد، ومن كان من أهل الصدقة دعي من باب الصدقة، ومن كان من أهل الصيام دعي من باب الصيام، وباب الريان، فقال أبو بكر: ما على هذا الذي يدعى من تلك الأبواب من ضرورة، وقال: هل يدعى منها كلها أحد يا رسول الله؟ قال: نعم، وأرجو أن تكون منهم يا أبا بكر.
Bukhari related it in the Virtues of the Companions (3666), and Muslim in Zakat (1027-85), both through routes from Zuhri, who said, Humayd bin Abdul-Rahman bin Awf informed me that Abu Hurairah said, and then he mentioned it. This is the wording of Bukhari, and the account of Muslim is similar to it.In one wording of theirs, "Whoever spends a pair in the way of Allah will be called by the keepers of Paradise, each keeper of a gate saying, so-and-so, come here." Abu Bakr said, "O Messenger of Allah, is that one who suffers no loss?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I hope that you will be among them."Muslim related it in Zakat (1027-86), and this is his wording, and Bukhari in Jihad (2841), both through routes from Shayban bin Abdul-Rahman, from Yahya bin Abu Kathir, from Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman, that he heard Abu Hurairah say, and then he mentioned it.His saying, "no loss," means no destruction.
