The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever dies upon one of these stations will be resurrected upon it."Haywa said, He means stations such as guarding the frontier, performing the Hajj, or the like.
عن رسول الله ﷺ قال: من مات على مرتبة من هذه المراتب بعث عليها. قال حيوة: يقول: رباط، حج، أو نحو ذلك.
Imam Ahmad narrated it (23941) from Ibrahim bin Ishaq, who said, Ibn Mubarak related to us (the hadith is in his book al-Jihad, 173) from Haywa bin Shurayh, who said, Abu Hani Khawlani informed me that Amr bin Malik Janabi (with fatha on the jim and sukun on the nun) informed him that he heard Ubayd narrating from the Messenger of Allahﷺ, and he mentioned it.Imam Ahmad also narrated it (23945), and Tabarani in al-Kabir (18/305), both from the hadith of Abu Abdul-Rahman Muqri, who said, Haywa and Ibn Lahia related to us, they said, Abu Hani informed us that Abu Ali Janabi told him that he heard Fadala bin Ubayd, and he mentioned the like of it.Hakim graded it sahih in al-Mustadrak (2/144) after narrating it by another route from Abdullah, who said, Haywa bin Shurayh informed me with his chain of transmission like it, and he added in it that Fadala said, "And I heard the Messenger of Allahﷺ say, 'Every dead person's deeds are sealed except the one who dies while standing guard in the path of Allah. His deeds continue to grow for him until the Day of Resurrection, and he is kept safe from the trial of the grave.'" He said, "Sahih according to the criteria of the two sheikhs."As for Haythami, he mentioned it in al-Majma (1/113), but he fell short in his attribution, for he did not attribute it to Ahmad, and attributed it only to Tabarani in al-Kabir, saying, "Its narrators are trustworthy in one of the two chains of transmission."
