The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A time will come upon people when an army will be sent out from among them, and they will say, 'Look, can you find among you anyone from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ?' A man will be found, and through him victory will be granted to them.Then a second army will be sent out, and they will say, 'Is there among them anyone who saw the companions of the Prophet ﷺ?' Through such a man victory will be granted to them.Then a third army will be sent out, and it will be said, 'Look, do you see among them anyone who saw someone who saw the companions of the Prophet ﷺ?'Then there will be a fourth army, and it will be said, 'Look, do you see among them anyone who saw someone who saw someone who saw the companions of the Prophet ﷺ?' A man will be found, and through him victory will be granted to them."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: يأتي على الناس زمان يبعث منهم البعث فيقولون: انظروا هل تجدون فيكم أحدا من أصحاب النبي ﷺ؟ فيوجد الرجل فيفتح لهم به، ثم يبعث البعث الثاني فيقولون: هل فيهم من رأى أصحاب النبي ﷺ؟ فيفتح لهم به، ثم يبعث البعث الثالث فيقال: انظروا هل ترون فيهم من رأى من رأى أصحاب النبي ﷺ؟ ثم يكون البعث الرابع فيقال: انظروا هل ترون فيهم أحدا رأى من رأى أحدا رأى أصحاب النبي ﷺ؟ فيوجد الرجل فيفتح لهم به.
Muslim narrated it in the Virtues of the Companions (2532-209), from Saeed bin Yahya bin Saeed Umawi, who said, my father narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj narrated to us, from Abu Zubayr, from Jabir, who said, Abu Saeed Khudri claimed, and then he mentioned it. It has also been narrated as part of Jabir's musnad, but it is defective.
