The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Hour will not come until a fire emerges from the land of the Hijaz that will illuminate the necks of the camels in Busra."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: لا تقوم الساعة حتى تخرج نار من أرض الحجاز تضيء أعناق الإبل ببصرى.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Turmoils (7118), and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Turmoils (42:2902), both of them through Zuhri, who said, Saeed bin Musayab said, Abu Hurairah told me, then he related it.Nawawi said, "In our time a fire broke out in Madinah in the year six hundred and fifty-four, and it was an extremely great fire, on the eastern side of Madinah beyond the Harrah. Knowledge of it spread with certainty among all the people of Syria and the rest of the lands, and I was told of it by those from the people of Madinah who witnessed it."
