The Prophet ﷺ said, "The Hour will not come until wealth becomes so abundant among you that it overflows, until the owner of wealth is troubled over who will accept his charity, and until he offers it to someone, only for the one to whom it is offered to say, 'I have no need of it.'"
عن النبي ﷺ قال: لا تقوم الساعة حتى يكثر فيكم المال فيفيض، حتى يهم رب المال من يقبل صدقته، وحتى يعرضه فيقول الذي يعرضه عليه: لا أرب لي.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Zakat (1412) from Abu Yaman, who said, Shuayb informed us, Abu Zinad narrated to us, from Abdul-Rahman, from Abu Hurairah, who mentioned it.Muslim narrated it through another route from Abu Hurairah with similar wording in the Book of Zakat (60:157).Muslim also narrated it in the Book of Zakat (60:157) from Qutayba bin Saeed, who said, Yaqub, that is, Ibn Abdul-Rahman Thari, narrated to us, from Suhayl, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Hour will not come until wealth becomes abundant and overflowing, until a man goes out with the zakat of his wealth and cannot find anyone to accept it from him, and until the land of the Arabs becomes meadows and rivers."I say, what the Prophet ﷺ foretold indeed came true, for wealth became so abundant that everyone became well off in the year one hundred after the hijrah, during the caliphate of Umar bin Abdul-Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him.Bayhaqi said the same in Dalail Nubuwwah (323/6).
