The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Then Allah will send a cold wind from the direction of Syria, and no one will remain on the face of the earth with even an atom's weight of good or faith in his heart without it taking his soul. Even if one of you were to enter into the heart of a mountain, it would enter upon him there and take his soul."Ubada said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Then the worst of people will remain, with the lightness of birds and the minds of wild beasts. They will not recognize what is good nor condemn what is evil. Satan will appear to them and say, "Will you not respond?" They will say, "What do you command us?" And he will command them to worship idols.'"
Muslim narrated it in the book of Tribulations and Signs of the Hour (2940), from Abdullah bin Muaz Anbari, who said, my father narrated to us, Shuba narrated to us, from Numan bin Salim, who said, I heard Yaqub bin Asim bin Urwa bin Masud Thaqafi say, I heard Abdullah bin Amr, in a long hadith, part of which was mentioned earlier in the chapter on the blowing of the horn.
