The Prophet ﷺ announced the deaths of Jafar and Zayd before news of them had arrived, with tears flowing from his eyes.
أن النبي ﷺ نعى جعفرا، وزيدا قبل أن يجيء خبرهم، وعيناه تذرفان.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Virtues (3630), from Sulayman bin Harb, who said, Hammad bin Zayd narrated to us, from Ayub, from Humayd bin Hilal, from Anas bin Malik, who mentioned it.
