We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, taking turns eating from a single bowl from morning until night. Ten would stand up and ten would sit down to eat.We asked, "From what was it being replenished?"He replied, "What are you amazed at? It was being replenished only from here," and he pointed with his hand toward the sky.
كنا مع رسول الله ﷺ نتداول في قصعة عن عدوة حتى الليل، يقوم عشرة، ويقعد عشرة، قلنا: فما كانت تمد؟ قال: من أي شيء تعجب؟ ما كانت تمد إلا من هاهنا. وأشار بيده إلى السماء.
Tirmidhi (3625) narrated it from Muhammad bin Bashshar, who said, Yazid bin Harun told us, Sulayman Taymi told us, from Abu Ala, from Samura bin Jundab, and he mentioned it.Imam Ahmad (20196) also narrated it, and Ibn Hibban (6529) and Hakim (2/618) graded it sahih, all of them through the route of Sulayman Taymi with his chain, similarly.Tirmidhi said, hasan sahih. Hakim said, sahih according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim).I say, it is as they both said, and Abu Ala is Yazid bin Abdullah bin Shikhir.
