A sheep was cooked, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Give me the foreleg." So it was handed to him.Then he said, "Give me the foreleg." So it was handed to him.Then he said, "Give me the foreleg."The man said, "Messenger of Allah, a sheep has only two forelegs!"He replied, "Had you searched for it, you would have found it."
إن شاة طبخت، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: أعطني الذراع فناولها إياه، فقال: أعطني الذراع فناولها إياه، ثم قال: أعطني الذراع فقال: يا رسول الله إنما للشاة ذراعان! قال: أما إنك لو التمستها لوجدتها.
Imam Ahmad (10706) narrated it from Dahhak, who said, "Ibn Ajlan narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Hurairah," and he mentioned it. Its chain is hasan because of Muhammad bin Ajlan and his father Ajlan, and Ibn Hibban narrated it from this route in his Sahih (6484).
