Bara bin Azib reported,

You count the conquest as the conquest of Makkah. The conquest of Makkah was indeed a conquest, but we count the conquest as the Pledge of Ridwan on the day of Hudaybiyah. We were with the Prophet ﷺ, fourteen hundred strong, and Hudaybiyah was a well. We drew from it until we left not a drop in it. News of this reached the Prophet ﷺ, so he came to it and sat on its edge. Then he called for a vessel of water, performed ablution, rinsed his mouth, and made supplication. Then he poured the water into the well. We left it alone for a short while, and then it gave us all the water we wanted, for ourselves and our mounts.
