Imran reported,

We were on a journey with the Prophet ﷺ. We traveled by night, and toward the end of the night we lay down to rest, and there is no rest sweeter to a traveler than that. Nothing woke us but the heat of the sun. The first to wake was so-and-so, then so-and-so, then so-and-so (Abu Raja named them, but Awf forgot), and the fourth was Umar bin Khattab. When the Prophet ﷺ slept, he was not to be awakened until he woke on his own, for we did not know what might come to him in his sleep. When Umar woke and saw what had befallen the people, being a strong-voiced man, he proclaimed the takbir and raised his voice with it. He kept proclaiming the takbir, raising his voice, until the Prophet ﷺ was awakened by his voice. When he woke, the people complained to him of what had happened to them.He said, "There is no harm. Move on."So they set out, and he traveled a short distance, then dismounted and called for water for ablution. He performed ablution, the call to prayer was made, and he led the people in prayer. When he finished his prayer, he noticed a man sitting apart who had not prayed with the people. He asked, "What kept you, so-and-so, from praying with the people?"The man replied, "I am in a state of major impurity and there is no water."He said, "Use clean earth, that will suffice you."Then the Prophet ﷺ resumed the journey, and the people complained to him of thirst. He dismounted and called for so-and-so (whom Abu Raja named but Awf forgot) and called for Ali, and said, "Go and search for water."So they set off and came upon a woman seated between two large waterskins, or two leather containers of water, on her camel. They asked her, "Where is the water?"She replied, "I left water at this same hour yesterday, and our menfolk have gone ahead."They said, "Come along, then."She asked, "Where to?"They said, "To the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."She asked, "The one called the Sabian?"They said, "He is the one you mean. Come along."They brought her to the Prophet ﷺ and told him the story. They had her dismount from her camel, and the Prophet ﷺ called for a vessel. He poured into it from the mouths of the two waterskins, or two leather containers, then tied up their mouths and opened the lower spouts. It was announced among the people, "Drink and draw water." So whoever wished drank, and whoever wished drew water. The last thing was that he gave the man who had been in a state of major impurity a vessel of water, saying, "Go and pour it over yourself."She stood watching what was being done with her water, and by Allah, when he finally left it, it appeared to us to be fuller than when he had begun. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Gather something for her." So they gathered for her dates, flour, and parched grain, until they had collected food for her. They placed it in a cloth, mounted her on her camel, and set the cloth before her.He said to her, "You know that we have not taken anything of your water. Rather, it is Allah who gave us drink."She returned to her people, having been delayed. They asked, "What kept you, so-and-so?"She said, "A wonder. Two men met me and took me to this one who is called the Sabian, and he did such and such. By Allah, he is the most skilled magician between this and this," and she pointed with her middle and index fingers, raising them to the sky, meaning between heaven and earth, "or else he is truly the Messenger of Allah."After that, the Muslims would raid the polytheists in the surrounding area but would not touch the settlement to which she belonged. One day she said to her people, "I do not think these people leave you alone except deliberately. Will you not enter Islam?" They obeyed her and entered Islam.
