Abu Saeed Khudri reported,

Some people during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Messenger of Allah, will we see our Lord on the Day of Resurrection?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Yes."He then said, "Do you have any difficulty seeing the sun at midday when the sky is clear and there are no clouds? Do you have any difficulty seeing the moon on a cloudless night when it is full?"They said, "No, Messenger of Allah."He said, "You will have no more difficulty seeing Allah on the Day of Resurrection than you have in seeing either of them. When the Day of Resurrection comes, a caller will announce, 'Let every nation follow what it used to worship.' Then no one who used to worship anything besides Allah, the Glorified, whether idols or stone monuments, will remain except that they fall into the Fire, until none are left except those who used to worship Allah, whether righteous or sinful, along with the remnants of the People of the Book.Then the Jews will be summoned, and they will be asked, 'What did you used to worship?'They will reply, 'We used to worship Uzayr, the son of Allah.'It will be said, 'You have lied. Allah has taken neither a consort nor a son. So what do you want now?'They will say, 'We are thirsty, our Lord, so give us drink.'They will be directed, 'Will you not go forward?' And they will be driven toward the Fire, which will appear like a mirage, parts of it crashing into other parts, and they will tumble into it.Then the Christians will be summoned, and they will be asked, 'What did you used to worship?'They will reply, 'We used to worship the Messiah, the son of Allah.'It will be said to them, 'You have lied. Allah has taken neither a consort nor a son.' Then they will be asked, 'What do you want now?'They will say, 'We are thirsty, our Lord, so give us drink.'They will be directed, 'Will you not go forward?' And they will be driven toward Hell, which will appear like a mirage, parts of it crashing into other parts, and they will tumble into the Fire.When none remain except those who used to worship Allah the Exalted, righteous and sinful alike, the Lord of the Worlds will come to them in a form nearer than the one in which they had seen Him before. He will say, 'What are you waiting for? Every nation has followed what it used to worship.'They will say, 'Our Lord, we parted from people in the world at the time we needed them most, and we did not associate with them.'He will say, 'I am your Lord.'They will say, 'We seek refuge in Allah from you. We do not associate anything with Allah.' They will say this two or three times, until some of them are nearly turned away.He will say, 'Is there a sign between you and Him by which you would recognize Him?'They will say, 'Yes.'Then the Shin will be uncovered, and no one who used to prostrate to Allah willingly will remain except that Allah grants him permission to prostrate, and no one who used to prostrate out of fear or to be seen will remain except that Allah will make his back a single rigid plate, so that whenever he tries to prostrate he falls backward on the back of his neck.Then they will raise their heads, and He will have transformed into the form in which they first saw Him, and He will say, 'I am your Lord.'They will say, 'You are our Lord.'Then the Bridge will be set across Hell, and intercession will be permitted. They will say, 'O Allah, grant safety, grant safety.'"Someone asked, "Messenger of Allah, what is the Bridge?"He said, "It is a slippery, treacherous place. Upon it are hooks, grappling claws, and thorns like the thorns of a plant called Sadan that grows in Najd. The believers will pass over it like the blink of an eye, like lightning, like the wind, like birds, and like the finest horses and riding-camels. Some will be saved unharmed, some will be lacerated but released, and some will be heaped into the Fire of Hell.When the believers have been delivered from the Fire, by the One in whose hand is my soul, none of you pleads with Allah more earnestly to secure his right than the believers will plead with Allah on the Day of Resurrection on behalf of their brothers who are in the Fire. They will say, 'Our Lord, they used to fast with us, pray with us, and perform Hajj with us.'It will be said to them, 'Bring out those whom you recognize.' Their forms will be made forbidden to the Fire, and they will bring out a great multitude whom the Fire had consumed up to the middle of their shins or up to their knees.Then they will say, 'Our Lord, none remain in it of those You commanded us to bring out.'He will say, 'Return, and whoever you find with the weight of a Dinar of good in his heart, bring him out.' So they will bring out a great multitude.Then they will say, 'Our Lord, we have left no one in it whom You commanded us to bring out.'He will say, 'Return, and whoever you find with the weight of half a Dinar of good in his heart, bring him out.' So they will bring out a great multitude.Then they will say, 'Our Lord, we have left no one in it whom You commanded us to bring out.'Then He will say, 'Return, and whoever you find with the weight of an atom's weight of good in his heart, bring him out.' So they will bring out a great multitude.Then they will say, 'Our Lord, we have not left any good in it.'"Abu Saeed Khudri used to say, "If you do not believe me regarding this hadith, then recite if you wish, 'Indeed, Allah does not wrong as much as an atom's weight, and if there is a good deed He multiplies it and gives from Himself a great reward' [Nisa 4:40].""Then Allah will say, 'The angels have interceded, the prophets have interceded, the believers have interceded, and none remains but the Most Merciful of those who show mercy.' Then He will scoop up a handful from the Fire and bring out from it a people who never did any good at all, who will have become charcoal. He will cast them into a river at the entrances of Paradise called the River of Life, and they will spring forth as seeds spring forth in the silt left by a flood. Have you not seen how a seed grows beside a rock or beside a tree, and the part facing the sun is yellowish and greenish while the part facing the shade is white?"They said, "Messenger of Allah, it is as if you used to tend flocks in the desert."He continued, "They will come out like pearls, with seals around their necks. The people of Paradise will recognize them as those whom Allah set free, whom Allah admitted into Paradise without any deed they had done or any good they had sent forward.Then He will say, 'Enter Paradise, and whatever you see is yours.'They will say, 'Our Lord, You have given us what You have given to no one else among the worlds.'He will say, 'You have with Me something better than this.'They will say, 'Our Lord, what is better than this?'He will say, 'My pleasure, so that I will never be displeased with you after it.'"

عن أبي سعيد الخدري

أن ناسا في زمن رسول الله ﷺ قالوا: يا رسول الله هل نرى ربنا يوم القيامة؟ قال رسول الله ﷺ: ((نعم)). قال: هل تضارون في رؤية الشمس بالظهيرة صحوا ليس معها سحاب؟ وهل تضارون في رؤية القمر ليلة البدر صحوا ليس فيها سحاب؟ قالوا: لا يا رسول الله. قال: ما تضارون في رؤية الله تبارك وتعالى يوم القيامة إلا كما تضارون في رؤية أحدهما. إذا كان يوم القيامة أذن مؤذن: ليتبع كل أمة ما كانت تعبد، فلا يبقي أحد كان يعبد غير الله سبحانه من الأصنام والأنصاب إلا يتساقطون في النار، حتى إذا لم يبق إلا من كان يعبد الله من بر وفاجر وغير أهل الكتاب، فيدعي اليهود فيقال لهم: ما كنتم تعبدون؟ قالوا: كنا نعبد عزير ابن الله! فيقال: كذبتم ما اتخذ الله من صاحبة ولا ولد. فماذا تبغون؟ قالوا: عطشنا يا ربنا فاسقنا. فيشار إليهم ألا تردون؟ فيحشرون إلى النار كأنها سراب يحطم بعضها بعضا، فيتساقطون في النار، ثم يدعي النصاري. فيقال لهم ما كنتم تعبدون؟ قالوا: كنا نعبد المسيح ابن الله! فيقال لهم: كذبتم ما اتخذ الله من صاحبة ولا ولد، فيقال من صاحبة ولا ولد، فيقال لهم ماذا تبغون؟ فيقولون: عطشنا يا ربنا فاسقنا قال: فيشار إليهم: ألا تردون؟ فيحشرون إلى جهنم كأنها سراب يحطم بعضها بعضا فيتساقطون في النار. حتى إذا لم يبق إلا من كان يعبد الله تعالى من بر وفاجر، أتاهم رب العالمين سبحانه وتعالى في أدنى صورة من التي رأوه فيها. قال فما تنتظرون؟ تتبع كل أمة ما كانت تعبد. قالوا: يا ربنا فارقنا الناس في الدنيا أفقر ما كنا إليهم ولم نصاحبهم. فيقول: أنا ربكم. فيقولون: نعوذ بالله منك لا نشرك بالله شيئا- مرتين أو ثلاثا- حتى إن بعضهم ليكاد أن ينقلب. فيقول: هل بينكم وبينه آية فتعرفونه بها؟ فيقولون: نعم. فيكشف عن ساق، فلا يبقي من كان يسجد الله من تلقاء نفسه إلا أذن الله له بالسجود، ولا يبقي من كان يسجد اتقاء ورياء إلا جعل الله ظهره طبقة واحدة كلما أراد أن يسجد خر على قفاه، ثم يرفعون رؤوسهم، وقد تحول في صورته التي رأوه فيها أول مرة، فقال: أنا ربكم. فيقولون: أنت ربنا، ثم يضرب الجسر على جهنم وتحل الشفاعة. ويقولون: اللهم سلم سلم. قيل: يا رسول الله، وما الحسر؟ قال: دحض مزلة، فيه خطاطيف وكلاليب وحسك، تكون بنجد فيها شويكة يقال: لها السعدان، فيمر المؤمنون كطرف العين وكالبرق وكالريح وكالطير وكأجاويد الخيل والركاب، فناح مسلم ومخدوش مرسل ومكدوس في نار جهنم. حتى إذا خلص المؤمنون من النار، فوالذي نفسي بيده ما منكم من أحد بأشد مناشدة لله في استقصاء الحق من المؤمنين الله يوم القيامة لإخوانهم الذين في النار. يقولون: ربنا كانوا يصومون معنا ويصلون ويحجون! فيقال لهم: أخرجوا من عرفتم فتحرم صورهم على النار. فيخرجون خلقا كثيرا قد أخذت النار إلى نصف ساقية، وإلى ركبتيه. ثم يقولون ربنا ما بقي فيها أحد ممن أمرتنا به. فيقول: ارجعوا فمن وجدتم في قلبه مثقال دينار من خير فأخرجوه، فيخرجون خلقا كثيرا، ثم يقولون: ربنا لم نذر فيها أحدا ممن أمرتنا. ثم يقول: ارجعوا فمن وجدتم في قلبه مثقال نصف دينار من خير فأخرجوه، فيخرجون خلقا كثيرا. ثم يقولون: ربنا لم نذر فيها ممن أمرتنا أحدا. ثم يقول: ارجعوا فمن وجدتم في قلبه مثقال ذرة من خير فأخرجوه، فيخرجون خلقا كثيرا، ثم يقولون: ربنا لم نذر فيها خيرا. وكان أبو سعيد الخدري يقول: إن لم تصدقوني بهذا الحديث فاقرءوا إن شئتم {إن الله لا يظلم مثقال ذرة وإن تك حسنة يضعفها ويؤت من لدنه أجرا عظيما} [سورة النساء: ٤٠]. فيقول الله عز وجل: شفعت الملائكة، وشفع النبيون، وشفع المؤمنون، ولم يبق إلا أرحم الراحمين فيقبض قبضة من النار، فيخرج منها قوما لم يعملوا خيرا قط قد عادوا حمما، فيلقيهم في نهر في أفواه الجنة يقال له: نهر الحياة، فيخرجون كما تخرج الحبة في حميل السيل، ألا ترونها تكون إلى الحجر أو إلى الشجر ما يكون إلى الشمس أصيفر وأخيضر، وما يكون منها إلى الظل يكون أبيض؟ فقالوا يا رسول الله، كأنك كنت ترعي بالبادية قال: فيخرجون كاللؤلؤ في رقابهم الخواتم يعرفهم أهل الجنة هؤلاء عتقاء الله الذين أدخلهم الله الجنة بغير عمل عملوه ولا خير قدموه. ثم يقول: أدخلوا الجنة فما رأيتموه فهو لكم! فيقولون: ربنا أعطيتنا ما لم تعط أحدا من العالمين. فيقول: لكم عندي أفضل من هذا! فيقولون: يا ربنا أي شيء أفضل من هذا؟ فيقول: رضاي فلا أسخط عليكم بعده أبدا.
