I visited Ayesha, and she brought out for us a thick lower garment of the kind made in Yemen and a cloak of the type they call mulabbadah. She then swore by Allah that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away in these two garments.
Bukhari related it in Clothing (5818) and Muslim in Clothing and Adornment (34:2080), both through the route of Humayd bin Hilal, from Abu Burda, who said, then he narrated it, the wording being Muslim's.Al-mulabbadah means patched, or thick garment that had become like felt.
