Abu Dawud (4229), Tirmidhi in his Sunan (1742) - this being his wording - and in Shamail (94), and Abu Shaykh in Akhlaq al-Nabi ﷺ (p. 108), all narrated it through Muhammad bin Ishaq, from Salt bin Abdullah bin Nawfal, who said, "I saw Ibn Abbas wearing his ring on his right hand, and I do not think he did so except that he said," and then he related the hadith.Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Muhammad bin Ishaq, for he is hasan al-hadith, and he explicitly stated that he heard it directly in the version narrated by Abu Dawud. Bukhari graded it hasan, as Tirmidhi related from him.
