The Prophet ﷺ went out one morning wearing a patterned cloak made of black wool.
خرج النبي ﷺ ذات غداة، وعليه مرط مرحل من شعر أسود.
Muslim narrated it in Kitab al-Libas (36:2081) through several routes from Zakariya bin Abu Zaida, from Musab bin Shayba, from Safiya bint Shayba, from Ayesha, who related it.His saying, "the mirt," refers to a long, wide wrap made of silk, wool, hair, or linen that is worn wrapped around the body.His saying, "al-murahhal," means one patterned in the shape of camel saddles, or one that has stripes on it.
