I entered upon the Prophet ﷺ in his house and saw him reclining on a cushion. Some narrators added, "on his left side."
دخلت على النبي ﷺ في بيته، فرأيته متكئا على وسادة. وزاد بعضهم: على يساره.
Narrated by Abu Dawud (4143), Tirmidhi (2771), Ahmad (20975), and his son Abdullah in his Zawaid (20911), all of them via the route of Israil, from Simak, from Jabir bin Samura, who said, then he mentioned it. Its chain is hasan because of Simak, for his hadith is hasan.The addition was reported by Tirmidhi in the Sunan (2770) and in the Shamail (123), and he said, hasan gharib, and he found fault with it on account of Ishaq bin Mansur al-Kufi being the sole narrator from Israil. However, he was corroborated, as Abdul-Razzaq followed him (13343), and it contains the story of the stoning of Maiz bin Malik. So the addition is acceptable, since two narrators agree on it.
