I was walking with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he was wearing a Najrani cloak with a coarse border, when an Arabi caught up with him and yanked him violently by his cloak. I looked at the side of the Messenger of Allah's neck and saw that the border of the cloak had left a mark on it from the force of the pull.Then the man said, "Muhammad, order that I be given some of Allah's wealth that you have."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned to him and laughed, then ordered that he be given a gift.
كنت أمشي مع رسول الله ﷺ وعليه رداء نجراني غليط الحاشية فأدركه أعرابي، فجبذه بردائه جبذة شديدة نظرت إلى صفحة عنق رسول الله ﷺ وقد أثرت بها حاشية الرداء من شدة جبذته، ثم قال: يا محمد مر لي من مال الله الذي عندك، فالتفت إليه رسول الله ﷺ فضحك ثم أمر له بعطاء.
Bukhari narrated it in the chapter on the obligation of khumus (3149), and Muslim narrated it in the chapter on zakat (1057:128), both of them through Malik bin Anas, from Ishaq bin Abdullah bin Abu Talha, from Anas bin Malik, who mentioned it.
