The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "How can I take comfort when the bearer of the trumpet has already placed it to his lips and bowed his forehead, waiting for the command to blow?"The companions asked, "Messenger of Allah, what should we say on that day?"He replied, "Say, 'Allah is sufficient for us and the best disposer of affairs. Upon Allah we rely.'"
قال رسول الله ﷺ: كيف أنعم وصاحب الصور قد التقم، وحنا جبهته ينتظر متى يؤمر أن ينفخ. قيل: قلنا يا رسول الله، ما تقول يومئذ؟ قال: قولوا: حسبنا الله ونعم الوكيل على الله توكلنا.
Abu Yaala (1084, edited by Husayn Asad) narrated it from Uthman, who related to us from Jareer, from Amash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Saeed, and he mentioned the hadith. Its chain of transmission is sahih, and Ibn Hibban declared it sahih (823). Al-Hakim also reported it (4/559) through the route of Ismail bin Ibrahim Abu Yahya Taymi, from Amash, except that Ismail is daif.As for what Tirmidhi (2431), Ibn Majah (4273), Imam Ahmad (11039), and others reported through the route of Atiya Awfi, from Abu Saeed, it contains confusion, for Atiya Awfi is daif, and he was inconsistent in it. At times he reported it from Abu Saeed, at other times from Ibn Abbas, and a third time from Zayd bin Aslam. Ibn Adi mentioned this hadith in Kamil (3/891) and noted this discrepancy in it.
