They said, "Messenger of Allah, you joke with us."He replied, "I only speak the truth."

Tirmidhi narrated it in his Sunan (1990) and in Shamail (237), and Ahmad (8723), both by way of Usama bin Zayd Laythi, from Saeed Maqburi, from Abu Hurairah, who mentioned it. Tirmidhi said, "Hasan hadith."I say, Usama bin Zayd is truthful, but he has a corroborator, Muhammad bin Ajlan, who followed him, and he is truthful.It was also narrated by Ahmad (8481) and Bayhaqi in Kubra (10/248), both by way of Muhammad bin Ajlan, from Saeed bin Abu Saeed Maqburi, from Abu Hurairah, who mentioned it.
