By Allah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ never spat but that the spittle fell into the palm of one of them, who would then rub it on his face and skin. Whenever he gave them a command, they rushed to carry it out. Whenever he performed ablution, they nearly fought one another over the water he had used.
فوالله ما تنخم رسول الله ﷺ نخامة إلا وقعت في كف رجل منهم، فدلك بها وجهه وجلده، وإذا أمرهم ابتدروا أمره، وإذا توضأ كادوا يقتتلون على وضوئه.
