He heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "More people than the tribe of Banu Tamim will enter Paradise through the intercession of one man from my nation."They asked, "Messenger of Allah, other than yourself?"He replied, "Other than myself."
أنه سمع النبي ﷺ يقول: ليدخلن الجنة بشفاعة رجل من أمتي أكثر من بني تميم. قالوا: يا رسول الله، سواك؟ قال: سواي.
Reported by Tirmidhi (2438) and Ibn Majah (4316) - and the wording here follows his version - both through the route of Khalid Haddan, from Abdullah bin Shaqiq, from Abdullah bin Abu Jadaa, who related it. Tirmidhi's wording is as follows. Abdullah bin Shaqiq said, "I was with a group of men in Ilya, and a man among them said, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say...'" (then he related the hadith). "When he stood up, I asked, 'Who is this?' They said, 'This is Ibn Abu Jadaa.'"Tirmidhi said, "Hasan sahih gharib. Ibn Abu Jadaa is Abdullah, and this is the only hadith known from him." End of quote.I say, its chain is sahih. It was also reported by Ibn Khuzayma in Tawhid (619), Ibn Hibban in his Sahih (7376), Hakim (1/70, 71), and Bayhaqi in Dalail Nubuwwah (6/378), all of them through the route of Khalid Haddan. Hasan used to say, "He is Uways Qarani." And in another version, "Uthman."
