The Prophet ﷺ turned toward Mount Uhud and said, "By the One in whose hand is Muhammad's soul, it would not please me to have Uhud turned into gold for the family of Muhammad, which I would spend in the path of Allah, only to die leaving behind two Dinars, except for two Dinars I would set aside for any debt I might owe."Then he died without leaving a single Dinar, nor a Dirham, nor a male slave, nor a female slave. He left only his armor, which was pledged to a Jew for thirty saa of barley.
Ahmad (2724), Abu Yaala (2684), Bazzar - al-Kashf (3682), and Abd bin Humayd (598) all narrated it, all from the hadith of Hilal bin Khabab, from Ikrima, from Ibn Abbas, who said, then he mentioned it. Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Hilal bin Khabab, for there is disagreement about him, though his hadith is hasan.
