I washed the Prophet ﷺ, then I looked closely to see if anything appeared from the deceased as it usually does, but I saw nothing. He was fragrant, both in life and in death.Four people undertook his burial and interment apart from the rest, Ali, Abbas, Fadl, and Salih the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. A lahd grave was dug for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and bricks were set up over him.
Reported by Hakim (1/362), and from him Bayhaqi (3/388), through the route of Musaddad, who said, Abdul-Wahid bin Ziyad narrated to us, Mamar narrated to us, from Zuhri, from Saeed bin Musayab, who said, Ali bin Abu Talib said, then he related it.It was also reported by Ibn Majah (1467) from Yahya bin Khudham, who said, Safwan bin Isa narrated to us, who said, Mamar informed us with his chain, in abbreviated form. Ibn Majah's authority Yahya bin Khudham is "acceptable" because he has corroborating narrators.
