Aisha reported that she heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, before he died while he was leaning against her chest and she listened closely to him, "O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, and join me with the highest company."
أنها سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول قبل أن يموت وهو مسند إلى صدرها، وأصغت إليه وهو يقول: اللهم اغفر لي، وارحمني، وألحقني بالرفيق.
Malik narrated it in al-Janaiz (46) from Hisham bin Urwa, from Abbad bin Abdullah bin Zubayr, from Ayesha, who said, and then she mentioned it.Muslim also related it in Fadail al-Sahabah (2444: 85) through Malik, with the same chain.Bukhari related it in al-Maghazi (4440) through Abdul-Aziz bin Mukhtar, from Hisham bin Urwa, with the same chain.
