I heard the Prophet ﷺ recite Surah al-Mursalat in the Maghrib prayer, and he did not lead us in prayer again after that until Allah took his soul.
سمعت النبي ﷺ يقرأ المغرب بالمرسلات عرفا، ثم ما صلى لنا بعدها حتى قبضه الله.
Malik narrated it in Kitab Salah (26) from Ibn Shihab, from Ubaydullah bin Abdullah bin Utba bin Masud, from Abdullah bin Abbas, from Umm Fadl, who said, and then she related it. Muslim included it in Kitab Salah (462:173) through the route of Malik, with the same wording. Bukhari included it in Kitab Maghazi (4429) from Yahya bin Bukayr, who said, Layth narrated to us, from Aqeel, from Ibn Shihab, from Ubaydullah bin Abdullah, with the same wording, and this is the wording given.Umm Fadl is the mother of Abdullah bin Abbas, and her name was Lubaba bint Harith. The hadith of Ayesha will come in the following chapter, stating that he ﷺ ordered Abu Bakr to lead the people in the Isha prayer. Abu Bakr led them in prayer during those days, and then the Messenger of Allah felt some relief in himself, so he went out for the Dhuhr prayer while Abu Bakr was leading the people in prayer.
