We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey when the people's provisions ran out, until he was about to slaughter some of their riding camels.Umar said, "Messenger of Allah, what if you gathered whatever remains of the people's provisions and called upon Allah to bless it?"So he did. Those who had wheat brought their wheat, those who had dates brought their dates (Mujahid said, "And those who had date-pits brought their pits").I asked, "What did they do with the date-pits?"He replied, "They would suck on them and drink water afterward."Then he supplicated over the provisions, and the people filled their food bags. At that moment he said, "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah. No servant meets Allah with these two testimonies, free of doubt in them, except that he enters Paradise."
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Faith (27), from Abu Bakr bin Nadr bin Abu Nadr, who said, Abu Nadr Hashim bin Qasim narrated to me, Ubaydullah Ashjai narrated to us, from Malik bin Mughul, from Talha bin Musarrif, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurairah, who mentioned it.
