Ibn Shihab reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ set out on the expedition of the Conquest, the conquest of Mecca. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ marched out with the Muslims who were with him, and they fought at Hunayn, where Allah granted victory to His religion and to the Muslims. On that day, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave Safwan bin Umaya a hundred head of livestock, then another hundred, then another hundred.Ibn Shihab said, Saeed bin Musayab told me that Safwan said, "By Allah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave me what he gave me when he was the most hated of people to me, but he kept giving to me until he became the most beloved of people to me."
