They said, "Messenger of Allah, the arrows of Thakeef have torn us apart, so pray to Allah against them."He said, "O Allah, guide Thakeef."
قالوا يا رسول الله أخرقتنا نبال ثقيف فادع الله عليهم، قال: اللهم اهد ثقيفا
Tirmidhi (3942) narrated it from Abu Salama Yahya bin Khalaf, who said, Abdul-Wahhab Thaqafi told us, from Abdullah bin Uthman bin Khaythama, from Abu Zubayr, from Jabir, who mentioned it. Abu Zubayr was corroborated, as Ahmad (14702) narrated it through another route from Abdullah bin Uthman bin Khaythama, from Abdul-Rahman bin Sabit, from Abu Zubayr, both of them from Jabir, mentioning the same. Its chain is hasan because of Abdullah bin Uthman bin Khaythama, for his hadith is hasan. Tirmidhi said, hasan sahih gharib. The siege of Taif continued for about half a month. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered the burning of the vineyards and palm groves on the outskirts of Taif to put pressure on Thaqif. Twelve men from the Muslims were martyred in it, until Allah granted them victory over their enemies, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed for Thaqif to be guided, and what happened, happened. Then the Prophet ﷺ returned to Jirana, distributed the spoils, and went back to Makkah to perform umrah.
