The Messenger of Allah ﷺ marched to Hunayn. The narrator mentioned the hadith, which included the following.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then sent word to Safwan bin Umaya, asking him for some coats of armor he had, a hundred coats of mail along with the equipment needed for them.Safwan asked, "Is this seizure by force, Muhammad?"He replied, "Rather, it is a loan with a guarantee until we return them to you."
أن رسول الله ﷺ سار إلى حنين، فذكر الحديث وفيه: ثم بعث رسول الله ﷺ إلى صفوان بن أمية فسأله أدراعا عنده مائة درع، وما يصلحها من عدتها، فقال: أغصبا يا محمد؟ فقال: بل عارية مضمونة، حتى نؤديها عليك.
Bayhaqi (6/89) reported it from Hakim (3/48-49) via the route of Muhammad bin Ishaq, who said, "Asim bin Umar bin Qatada narrated to me, from Abdul-Rahman bin Jabir, from his father Jabir," and he mentioned it, in abridged form. Hakim recorded it at length as mentioned previously. Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Muhammad bin Ishaq, since he explicitly stated that he narrated directly. The hadith has corroborating narrations which I have mentioned in the book on sales transactions.
