Abu Tufayl reported,

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ conquered Mecca, he sent Khalid bin Walid to Nakhlah, where the idol al-Uzza stood. Khalid bin Walid came to it, and it was situated upon hills covered with samurah trees. He cut down the trees and demolished the structure that stood over it. Then he came to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him.The Prophet ﷺ said, "Go back, for you have not done anything."So Khalid returned. When the custodians, who were its keepers, saw him, they fled deep into the mountain, crying out, "Uzza, strike him senseless! Uzza, blind him! Otherwise, die in disgrace!"Khalid came upon her and found a naked woman with disheveled hair, throwing dust upon her head. He struck her with his sword and killed her. Then he returned to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him.The Prophet ﷺ said, "That was al-Uzza."
