Fatimah bint Utbah bin Rabia came to give her pledge of allegiance to the Prophet ﷺ, and he took from her this commitment, "Prophet, when believing women come to you pledging that they will not associate anything with Allah, nor steal, nor commit fornication" [Mumtahanah 60:12].She said, "So she put her hand on her head out of shyness," and what the Prophet ﷺ saw from her pleased him.Ayesha said, "Consent, woman. By Allah, we pledged on nothing other than this."She said, "Then yes, I agree."So he accepted her pledge on the terms of the verse.
Ahmad (25175) narrated it from Abdul-Razzaq, and it is in his Musnad (9827), and Ibn Hibban (4554) and Bazzar in al-Kashf (70) also narrated it through his route. He said, Mamar reported to us, from Zuhri, or someone else, from Urwa, from Ayesha, and he related it.Some of them narrated it with certainty that it was from Zuhri. Its isnad is sahih.
