I brought my brother Abu Mabad to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ after the Conquest and said, "Messenger of Allah, take his pledge for migration."He replied, "The time of migration has passed with its people."I asked, "Then for what will you take his pledge?"He said, "For Islam, jihad, and goodness."
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Military Expeditions (4305–4306), and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Jihad (18:1863:84), both from the hadith of Asim, from Abu Uthman, who said, Mujashi bin Masud narrated to me, and he mentioned it.Abu Uthman said, I then met Abu Mabad and told him what Mujashi had said, and he said, "He told the truth."
