Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of the Conquest of Makkah, "There is no migration after the conquest, but rather jihad and intention, and when you are called to march out, then march out."He also said, "Allah made this land sacred the day He created the heavens and the earth, so it is sacred by the sanctity of Allah until the Day of Resurrection. Fighting in it was not made lawful for anyone before me, and it was made lawful for me only for a brief moment of one day. So it is sacred by the sanctity of Allah until the Day of Resurrection. Its thorny shrubs are not to be cut, its game is not to be startled, and its lost property is not to be picked up except by one who will announce it, and its fresh grass is not to be uprooted."Abbas said, "Messenger of Allah, except for idhkhir grass, for it is used by their blacksmiths and in their houses."He replied, "Except for idhkhir."
