The Messenger of Allah ﷺ appointed Abu Bakr as our commander, and we raided a group of polytheists. We attacked them by night and killed them, and our watchword that night was, "Amit, amit" (Kill, kill).Salama said, "That night I killed seven households of the polytheists with my own hand."
أمر رسول الله ﷺ علينا أبا بكر، فغزونا ناسا من المشركين فبيتناهم نقتلهم، وكان شعارنا تلك الليلة: أمت، أمت. قال سلمة: فقتلت بيدي تلك الليلة سبعة أهل أبيات من المشركين.
Reported by Abu Dawud (2638, 2596) and Ahmad (16498), and Ibn Hibban (4744) graded it sahih, as did Hakim (2/107), all of them through routes from Ikrima bin Ammar, who said, Iyas bin Salama bin Akwa narrated to us, from his father, and he related it.This chain is hasan because of Ikrima bin Ammar. Hakim said, the chain is sahih.
