Anas bin Malik reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ launched a military expedition against Khaybar. We performed the dawn prayer there while it was still dark, then the Prophet of Allah ﷺ mounted his horse, and Abu Talha mounted his, and I rode behind Abu Talha. The Prophet of Allah ﷺ urged his horse forward through the alleys of Khaybar. My knee was touching the thigh of the Prophet of Allah, and the lower garment slipped away from the thigh of the Prophet ﷺ until I could see the whiteness of his thigh.When he entered the town, he said, "Allah is the Greatest! Khaybar is destroyed. When we descend upon a people's territory, evil is the morning of those who were warned." He said it three times.The people had gone out to their work, and they cried, "Muhammad, by Allah!"Abdul-Aziz said, some of our companions said, they cried, "Muhammad and his army!"He said, we took it by force. The captives were gathered together, and Dihya came and said, "Messenger of Allah, give me a slave-girl from the captives."He said, "Go and take a slave-girl."So he took Safiya bint Huyayy. Then a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Prophet of Allah, you gave Dihya Safiya bint Huyayy, the noblewoman of Qurayza and Nadir? She is fit for none but you."He said, "Call him to bring her."So he brought her, and when the Prophet ﷺ looked at her, he said to Dihya, "Take another slave-girl from the captives."He freed her and married her.Thabit asked him, "Abu Hamza, what did he give her as her bridal gift?"He replied, "Herself. He freed her and married her."When they were on the road, Umm Sulaym prepared her for him and brought her to him at night, so the Prophet ﷺ awoke as a bridegroom. He said, "Whoever has anything, let him bring it." He spread out a leather mat, and one man came with dried curd, another came with dates, and another came with clarified butter. They mixed it together into a sweet dish called hays, and that was the wedding feast of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

عن أنس

أن رسول الله ﷺ غزا خيبر، قال: فصلينا عندهاصلاة الغداة بغلس، فركب نبي الله ﷺ وركب أبو طلحة، وأنا رديف أبي طلحة، فأجرى نبي الله ﷺ في زقاق خيبر، وإن ركبتي لتمس فخذ نبي الله، وانحسر الإزار عن فخذ النبي ﷺ فإني لأرى بياض فخذ نبي الله ﷺ، فلما دخل القرية قال: الله أكبر، خربت خيبر، إنا إذا نزلنا بساحة قوم فساء صباح المنذرين. قالها ثلاث مرات. قال: وخرج القوم إلى أعمالهم فقالوا: محمد، والله! قال عبد العزيز: وقال بعض أصحابنا: محمد والخميس. قال: وأصبناها عنوة، وجمع السبي، فجاء دحية فقال: يا رسول الله، أعطني جارية من السبي. قال: اذهب فخذ جارية. فأخذ صفية بنت حيي، فجاء رجل إلى النبي ﷺ فقال: يا نبي الله، أعطيت دحية صفية بنت حيي سيدة قريظة والنضير؟ ما تصلح إلا لك. قال: ادعوه بها فجاء بها، فلما نظر إليها النبي ﷺ قال: خذ جارية من السبي غيرها. قال: وأعتقها وتزوجها. قال له ثابت: يا أبا حمزة! ما أصدقها؟ قال: نفسها، أعتقها وتزوجها، حتى إذا كان بالطريق جهزتها له أم سليم فأهدتها له من الليل، فأصبح النبي ﷺ عروسا فقال: من كان عنده شيء فليجي به. وبسط نطعا، قال: فجعل الرجل يجيء بالأقط، وجعل الرجل يجيء بالتمر، وجعل الرجل يجيء بالسمن، فحاسوا حيسا، فكانت وليمة رسول الله ﷺ.
