I was present at Khaybar with my masters. They spoke to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about me, and they told him that I was a slave. He ordered that I be given a sword to wear, but when I put it on, I was dragging it along the ground. So he ordered that I be given some of the household goods from the spoils.I showed him an incantation I used to recite over those afflicted with madness, and he instructed me to discard part of it and keep part of it.In another narration, "He gave me some household goods from the spoils but did not allot me a share."
Reported by Abu Dawud (2730), Tirmidhi (1557), Ibn Majah (2855), and Nasai in Kubra (7493). Ibn Hibban (4831) and Hakim (1/327) graded it sahih, all of them through routes from Muhammad bin Zayd, from Umayr, the freed slave of Abu Lahm, who narrated it. Its chain of transmission is sahih. Some sources mention "Hunayn" instead of "Khaybar."His saying "kharthi al-mataa" means household goods such as the pot and similar items.
