The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to Khaybar at night. Whenever he approached a people by night, he would not attack them until morning. When morning came, the Jews went out with their shovels and baskets. When they saw him, they cried out, "Muhammad, by Allah! Muhammad and his army!"The Prophet ﷺ said, "Khaybar is destroyed. When we descend upon a people's territory, dreadful is the morning of those who have been warned."
أن رسول الله ﷺ أتى خيبر ليلا، وكان إذا أتى قوما بليل لم يفر بهم حتى يصبح، فلماأصبح خرجت اليهودبمساحيهم ومكاتلهم، فلمارأوه قالوا: محمدوالله، محمد والخميس، فقال النبي ﷺ: خربت خيبر، إنا إذا نزلنا بساحة قوم فساء صباح المنذرين.
Malik narrated it in jihad (48), from Humayd Tawil, from Anas who said, and mentioned it.Bukhari narrated it in military expeditions (4197), from Abdullah bin Yusuf, who said, Malik informed us, with the same wording.
