On the day of Hudaybiyah, the Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not light any fires at night." Later he said, "Light fires and prepare your food, for no people after you will match your saa or your mudd."
أن النبي ﷺ لما كان يوم الحديبية قال: لا توقدوا نارا بليل فما كان بعد ذلك قال: أوقدوا، واصطنعوا، فإنه لا يدرك قوم بعدكم صاعكم ولا مدكم.
Ahmad (11208) and Abu Yaala (984) narrated it, and Hakim (3/36) graded it sahih, all of them from the hadith of Yahya bin Saeed Qattan, from Muhammad bin Abu Yahya, who said, my father told me that Abu Saeed Khudri narrated to him, and he mentioned it as follows. Its chain is hasan because of Abu Yahya, who is Saman Aslami. Nasai said, "There is no harm in him." Ibn Hibban mentioned him in Al-Thiqat. Haythami mentioned him in Al-Majma (6/145) and said, "Ahmad narrated it, and its narrators are reliable."As for his son Muhammad, a number of scholars affirmed his reliability, including Ibn Main, Ibn Saad, Abu Dawud, and others, except that Hafiz said in Al-Taqrib, "Truthful."
