He said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say on the Day of the Trench, "By Allah, had it not been for Allah, we would not have been guided, nor would we have given charity, nor would we have prayed. So send down tranquility upon us."
قال كان رسول الله ﷺ يقول يوم الخندق: والله لولا الله ما اهتدينا ولا تصدقنا ولا صلينا فأنزلن سكينة علينا.
Bazzar narrated it in Kashf Astar (1804), and Abu Yaala (3395), both from the hadith of Muhammad bin Muthanna, who said, Zakariya bin Yahya told us, he said, I heard Thabit Banani narrating from Anas bin Malik, and he mentioned it.Its isnad is hasan because of Zakariya bin Yahya, who is the son of Umara Ansari, and is sometimes attributed to his grandfather. He is disputed, but his hadith is hasan.Haythami said in Majma (6/133), Bazzar and Abu Yaala narrated it, and its narrators are trustworthy.
