Ayesha reported that Abu Bakr asked the Prophet ﷺ for permission to leave Mecca when the persecution became severe against him. The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Wait."Abu Bakr asked, "Messenger of Allah, do you hope that you will be given permission?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would reply, "I do hope for that."She said, So Abu Bakr waited for him. One day at noon, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to him and called out to him, saying, "Send out whoever is with you."Abu Bakr replied, "They are only my two daughters."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Have you realized that I have been given permission to leave?"Abu Bakr said, "Companionship, Messenger of Allah?"The Prophet ﷺ said, "Companionship."Abu Bakr said, "Messenger of Allah, I have two she-camels that I had prepared for departure." So he gave one of them, the one called al-Jadaa, to the Prophet ﷺ. They both mounted and set off until they reached the cave at Thawr, where they hid themselves.Amir bin Fuhayra was a slave belonging to Abdullah bin Tufayl bin Sakhbara, the maternal half-brother of Ayesha. Abu Bakr had a milk-giving she-camel, and Amir would take it to pasture in the evening and bring it back in the morning to them. He would set out to them before dawn, then drive the flock out to graze, so none of the shepherds noticed him. When they departed, he went with them, riding behind them in turns, until they reached Medina. Amir bin Fuhayra was later killed on the day of Bir Mauna.Abu Usama said, Hisham bin Urwa said, My father informed me, He said, When those at Bir Mauna were killed, and Amr bin Umaya al-Damri was taken captive, Amir bin Tufayl said to him, "Who is this?" pointing to one of the slain.Amr bin Umaya replied, "This is Amir bin Fuhayra."Amir bin Tufayl said, "I saw him after he was killed, raised up to the sky, until I could see the sky between him and the earth, then he was set down."News of them reached the Prophet ﷺ, and he announced their deaths, saying, "Your companions have been struck down. They asked their Lord, saying, 'Our Lord, inform our brothers about us, that we are pleased with You and You are pleased with us.' So He informed them about them."Among those killed that day was Urwa bin Asma bin al-Salt, after whom Urwa was named, and Mundhir bin Amr, after whom Mundhir was named.
Bukhari (4093) narrated it from Ubayd bin Ismail, who said, Abu Usama narrated to us, from Hisham, from his father, from Ayesha, and he related it.As for his statement, "And from Abu Usama, who said, Hisham bin Urwa said, my father informed me, saying..." this is how he mentioned it as a mursal report from Urwa bin Zubayr. But the insertion of this mursal report within the connected account of the migration narrated from Ayesha indicates that it is also connected through the mention of Ayesha.
