On the day of Uhud, when the polytheists had withdrawn, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Line up straight so that I may praise my Lord ."So they formed rows behind him, and he said, "O Allah, all praise belongs to You. O Allah, there is none who can withhold what You have extended, none who can bring near what You have set far, none who can set far what You have brought near, none who can give what You have withheld, and none who can withhold what You have given.O Allah, extend over us Your blessings, Your mercy, Your favor, and Your provision. O Allah, I ask You for the lasting bliss that does not change or fade away. O Allah, I ask You for ease on the day of poverty and safety on the day of war. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of what You have given us and the evil of what You have withheld from us.O Allah, make faith beloved to us and adorn it in our hearts, and make disbelief, wickedness, and disobedience hateful to us, and make us among the rightly guided. O Allah, cause us to die as Muslims, give us life as Muslims, and join us with the righteous, neither disgraced nor put to trial.O Allah, fight the disbelievers who turn people away from Your path and reject Your messengers, and send down upon them Your punishment and torment. O Allah, fight the disbelievers who were given the Scripture, God of truth."Ali said, "I also heard it from Muhammad bin Bishr, and he traced it back with a chain, but I do not transmit it through him."
Ahmad (15492), Bukhari in Adab al-Mufrad (699), Bazzar in Kashf Astar (1800), Hakim (1/506-507), and Tabarani in Dua (1075) all narrated it through various routes from Abdul-Wahid bin Ayman, from Ubayd bin Rifa Zurqi, from his father, and he mentioned it. Bazzar said, "We do not know it as a raised hadith except through the report of Rifa, and no one narrated it from Ubayd except Abdul-Wahid, who is well known and there is no harm in him, scholars have narrated from him."I say, it is as he said. A group narrated from Abdul-Wahid bin Ayman and disagreed about it. Some of them attributed it to the report of Ubayd bin Rifa Zurqi without mentioning his father, and Ubayd is among the Followers, which would make it a mursal report. But the sahih version is what I have mentioned, and Hakim also graded it sahih, saying, "It meets the standard of the two sheikhs." Dhahabi followed up on this and said, "They did not narrate from Ubayd, and he is trustworthy, but the hadith, despite the soundness of its chain, is munkar. I fear it may be fabricated." He narrated it from Khallad bin Abu Maysara. Then it appears that Dhahabi's judgment changed in another place. Hakim narrated it in Mustadrak (3/23-24) through a route other than that of Ibn Abu Mura, from Khallad bin Yahya, as he had narrated it in the first place mentioned above, and there he agreed with Hakim that it meets the standard of the two sheikhs. As for Dhahabi's statement, "They did not narrate from Ubayd, and he is trustworthy," it is as he said. But Bukhari did narrate from him in Adab al-Mufrad, and Hakim does not distinguish between Sahih Bukhari and his other books such as Adab al-Mufrad, Khalq Afal Abbad, Muallaqat, Juz Qira, Raf al-Yadayn, and others. As for Muslim, he did not narrate from Ubayd. And with Allah lies success.
