The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by the women of Banu Abd al-Ashhal, who were weeping for those they had lost on the day of Uhud. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "But Hamza has no women to weep for him."So the women of the Ansar came and began weeping for Hamza. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then woke up and said, "Woe to them, have they not yet returned home? Tell them to go back, and let no one weep over the dead after this day."
Ibn Majah (1591), Ahmad (4984), and Hakim (3/195) all narrated it from the hadith of Usama bin Zayd, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, as mentioned. The wording is that of Ibn Majah. Its chain is hasan because of Usama bin Zayd, for his hadith is hasan. Other reports about Hamza bin Abdul-Muttalib have already appeared in the chapter on funerals .
