Anas bin Malik reported,

The prophets, peace be upon them, were mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, I shall be the master of mankind on the Day of Resurrection, and I say this without boasting. In my hand will be the banner of praise, and beneath it will be Adam and all who came after him, and I say this without boasting."He said, "Allah will call out on that Day, 'Adam!'Adam will reply, 'Here I am, my Lord, at Your service.'Allah will say, 'Bring forth from your descendants those destined for the Fire.'Adam will ask, 'What is the portion destined for the Fire?'Allah will say, 'Out of every thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine.'So a number known only to Allah will be brought forth.Then the people will come to Adam and say, 'You are Adam, whom Allah honored, whom He created with His own hand, into whom He breathed of His spirit, whom He settled in His paradise, and to whom He commanded the angels to prostrate. Intercede for your descendants, that they not be burned today in the Fire.'He will say, 'That is not for me to do, but I will direct you. You should go to a servant whom Allah took as an intimate friend, and I will come with you.'So they will come to Ibrahim and say, 'Ibrahim, you are the servant whom Allah took as an intimate friend. Intercede for the descendants of Adam, that they not be burned today in the Fire.'He will say, 'That is not for me to do, but I will direct you. You should go to a servant whom Allah chose for His speech and His messages, and upon whom He cast love from Himself, Musa, and I will come with you.'So they will come to Musa and say, 'Musa, you are the servant whom Allah chose for His messages and His speech, and upon whom He cast love from Himself. Intercede for the descendants of Adam, that they not be burned in the Fire.'He will say, 'That is not for me to do today, but I will direct you. You should go to the spirit of Allah and His word, Isa son of Maryam.'So they will come to Isa son of Maryam and say, 'Isa, you are the spirit of Allah and His word. Intercede for the descendants of Adam, that they not be burned today in the Fire.'He will say, 'That is not for me to do today. You should go to a servant whom Allah made a mercy to the worlds, Ahmad ﷺ, and I will come with you.'So they will come to me and say, 'Ahmad, Allah made you a mercy to the worlds. Intercede for the descendants of Adam, that they not be burned today in the Fire.'I will say, 'Yes, I am the one for it.'I will go until I take hold of the ring of the gate of paradise, and it will be said, 'Who is this?'I will say, 'I am Ahmad.'It will be opened for me, and when I behold the Almighty I will fall prostrate. Then there will be opened for me such praise and glorification of the Lord as has never been opened before, beyond what beautiful character could express. Then it will be said, 'Ask and you shall be granted, intercede and your intercession shall be accepted.'I will say, 'My Lord, the descendants of Adam, that they not be burned today in the Fire.'He will say, 'Go, and whoever you find with the weight of a dinar of faith in his heart, bring him out.'Then they will return to me and say, 'The descendants of Adam, that they not be burned today in the Fire.'So I will come until I take hold of the ring of the gate of paradise, and it will be said, 'Who is this?'I will say, 'Ahmad.'It will be opened for me, and when I behold the Almighty I will fall prostrate, prostrating as I prostrated the first time, and the like of it again. Such glorification of Allah and praise will be opened for me as was opened the first time. Then it will be said, 'Raise your head, ask and you shall be granted, intercede and your intercession shall be accepted.'I will say, 'My Lord, the descendants of Adam, that they not be burned today in the Fire.'He will say, 'Bring out for him whoever had the weight of a carat of faith in his heart.'Then they will return to me, and I will come and do as I did before. When I behold the Almighty I will fall prostrate, prostrating as I prostrated the first time and the like of it again, and praise and glorification will be opened for me as before. Then it will be said, 'Ask and you shall be granted, intercede and your intercession shall be accepted.'I will say, 'My Lord, the descendants of Adam, that they not be burned today in the Fire.'He will say, 'Go, and whoever you find with the weight of an atom of faith in his heart, bring him out.'So they will bring out a number known only to Allah , yet most of them will still remain. Then permission will be given to Adam to intercede, and he will intercede for ten thousand thousand. Then permission will be given to the angels and the prophets, and they will intercede, until even the believer will intercede for more than the tribes of Rabia and Mudar."

عن أنس بن مالك

أن الأنبياء- عليهم السلام- ذكروا عند رسول الله ﷺ فقال: والذي نفسي بيده إني لسيد الناس يوم القيامة ولا فخر، وإن بيدي لواء الحمد، إن تحته لآدم عليه السلام ومن دونه، ولا فخر. قال: ينادي الله عز وجل يومئذ: آدم، فيقول: لبيك رب وسعديك، فيقول: اخرج من ذريتك بعث النار، فيقول: وما بعث النار، فيقول: من كل ألف تسعمائة وتسعة وتسعين، فيخرج ما لا يعلم عدده إلا الله عز وجل، فيأتون آدم عليه السلام، فيقولون: أنت آدم، أكرمك الله وخلقك بيده، وتفخت فيك من روحه، وأسكنك جنته، وأمر الملائكة فسجدوا لك، فاشفع لذريتك، لا تحرق اليوم بالنار، فيقول: ليس ذلك إلي، ولكن سارشدكم، عليكم بعبد اتخذه الله خليلا وأنا معكم، فيأتون إبراهيم عليه السلام، فيقولون: يا إبراهيم، أنت عبد اتخذه الله خليلا، فاشفع لذرية آدم لا تحرق اليوم بالنار، فيقول: ليس ذلك إلي، ولكن سأرشدكم عليكم بعبد اصطفاه الله عز وجل بكلامه ورسالاته، وألقى عليه محبة منه، موسى وأنا معكم، فيأتون موسى فيقولون: يا موسى، أنت عبد اصطفاك الله برسالاته وكلامه، وألقى عليك محبة منه، اشفع لذرية آدم لا تحرق بالنار، قال: ليس ذلك اليوم إلي، ولكن سأرشدكم، عليكم بروح الله وكلمته: عيسى ابن مريم، فيأتون عيسى ابن مريم عليه السلام، فيقولون: يا عيسى، أنت روح الله وكلمته، اشفع لذرية آدم لا تحرق اليوم بالنار، قال: ليس ذلك اليوم إلي، عليكم بعبد جعله الله عز وجل رحمة للعالمين أحمد ﷺ وأنا معكم، فيأتوني، فيقولون: يا أحمد، جعلك الله رحمة للعالمين، فاشفع لذرية آدم لا تحرق اليوم بالنار، فأقول: نعم أنا صاحبها، فآتي حتى آخذ بحلقة باب الجنة، فيقال: من هذا فأقول: أنا أحمد، فيفتح لي، فإذا نظرت إلى الجبار تبارك وتعالى خررت ساجدا، ثم يفتح لي من التحميد والثناء على الرب عز وجل شيء، لا بحسن الخلق، ثم يقال: سل تعطه، واشفع تشفع، فأقول: يا رب، ذرية آدم لا تحرق اليوم بالنار، فيقول: اذهبوا فمن وجدتم في قلبه مثقال دينار من إيمان فأخرجوه، ثم يعودون إلي، فيقولون: ذرية آدم لا تحرق اليوم بالنار، قال: فآتي حتى آخذ بحلقة باب الجنة، فيقال: من هذا فأقول: أحمد، فيفتح لي، فإذا نظرت إلى الجبار تبارك وتعالى خررت ساجدا فأسجد مثل سجودي الأول مرة، ومثله معه، فيفتح لي من الثناء على الله عز وجل والتحميد مثل ما فتح لي أول مرة، فيقال: ارفع رأسك، وسل تعطه، واشفع تشفع، فأقول: يا رب ذرية آدم لا تحرق اليوم بالنار، فيقول: اخرجوا له من كان في قلبه مثقال قيراط من إيمان، ثم يعودون إلي فآتي حتى أصنع كما صنعت، فإذا نظرت إلى الجبار عز وجل خررت ساجدا فأسجد كسجودي الأول مرة ومثله معه، ويفتح لي من الثناء والتحميد مثل ذلك، ثم يقال: سل تعطه، واشفع تشفع، فأقول: يا رب ذرية آدم لا تحرق اليوم بالنار، فيقول: اذهبوا فمن وجدتم في قلبه مثقال ذرة من إيمان فأخرجوه، فيخرجون ما يعلم عددهم إلا الله عز وجل، ويبقى أكثرهم، ثم يؤذن لآدم بالشفاعة فيشفع لعشرة آلاف ألف، ثم يؤذن للملائكة والنبيين فيشفعون حتى إن المؤمن ليشفع لأكثر من ربيعة ومضر.
