Anas bin Malik reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Day of Resurrection will stretch long upon the people, so they will say to one another, 'Let us go to Adam, the father of mankind, that he may intercede for us with our Lord and ask Him to pass judgment among us.'They will come to Adam and say, 'Adam, you are the one whom Allah created with His own hand and settled in His paradise. Intercede for us with your Lord that He may pass judgment among us.'He will reply, 'I am not the one for that. Go to Nuh, the foremost of the prophets.'They will come to him and say, 'Nuh, intercede for us with your Lord that He may pass judgment among us.'He will reply, 'I am not the one for that. Go to Ibrahim, the close friend of Allah .'They will come to him and say, 'Ibrahim, intercede for us with your Lord that He may pass judgment among us.'He will reply, 'I am not the one for that. Go to Musa, whom Allah chose with His messages and His speech.'They will come to him and say, 'Musa, intercede for us with your Lord that He may pass judgment among us.'He will reply, 'I am not the one for that. Go to Isa, the spirit of Allah and His word.'They will come to Isa and say, 'Isa, intercede for us with your Lord that He may pass judgment among us.'He will reply, 'I am not the one for that. Go instead to Muhammad ﷺ, for he is the seal of the prophets, and he is present this day, and his sins, past and future, have been forgiven him.'Then Isa will say, 'Tell me, if there were goods in a container that had been sealed, could anyone reach what is inside until the seal was broken?'They will say, 'No.'He will say, 'Indeed, Muhammad ﷺ is the seal of the prophets.'"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ continued, "So they will come to me and say, 'Muhammad, intercede for us with your Lord that He may pass judgment among us.'I will say, 'Yes.' I will come to the gate of paradise, take hold of its ring, and seek to have it opened. It will be said, 'Who are you?' I will say, 'Muhammad.' Then it will be opened for me. I will fall down in prostration and praise my Lord with praises that no one before me has used to praise Him, and no one after me will use to praise Him.He will say, 'Raise your head. Speak, and you will be heard. Ask, and you will be granted. Intercede, and your intercession will be accepted.'I will say, 'My Lord, my nation, my nation.'It will be said, 'Bring out whoever has the weight of a barley grain of faith in his heart.' So I will bring them out.Then I will fall down in prostration again and praise Him with praises that no one before me has used to praise Him, and no one after me will use to praise Him. It will be said to me, 'Raise your head. Ask, and you will be granted. Intercede, and your intercession will be accepted.'I will say, 'My Lord, my nation, my nation.'It will be said, 'Bring out whoever has the weight of a wheat grain of faith in his heart.' So I will bring them out.Then I will fall down in prostration once more and say the like of that. It will be said, 'Whoever has the weight of an atom of faith in his heart.' So I will bring them out."

عن أنس

أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: يطول يوم القيامة على الناس، فيقول بعضهم لبعض: انطلقوا بنا إلى آدم أبي البشر، فيشفع لنا إلى ربنا عز وجل، فليقض بيننا، فيأتون آدم، فيقولون: يا آدم أنت الذي خلقك الله بيده وأسكنك جنته، فاشفع لنا إلى ربك، فليقض بيننا، فيقول: إني لست هناكم، ولكن اثتوا نوحا رأس النبيين، فيأتونه فيقولون: يا نوح اشفع لنا إلى ربك، فليقض بيننا، فيقول: إني لست هناكم، ولكن انتوا إبراهيم خليل الله عز وجل، فيأتونه فيقولون: يا إبراهيم اشفع لنا إلى ربك فليقض بيننا. فيقول: إني لست هناكم ولكن انتوا موسى الذي اصطفاه الله عز وجل برسالاته وبكلامه. قال: فيأتونه فيقولون: يا موسى اشفع لنا إلى ربك عز وجل، فليقض بيننا فيقول: إني لست هناكم ولكن اثتوا عيسى روح الله وكلمته، فيأتون عيسى فيقولون: يا عيسى اشفع لنا إلى ربك، فليقض بيننا، فيقول إني لست هناكم، ولكن انتوا محمدا ﷺ فإنه خاتم النبيين فإنه قد حضر اليوم وقد غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه وما تأخر، فيقول عيسى: أرأيتم لو كان متاع في وعاء قد ختم عليه هل كان يقدر على ما في الوعاء حتى يفض الخاتم؟ فيقولون: لا. قال: فإن محمدا ﷺ خاتم النبيين. قال: فقال رسول الله ﷺ، فيأتوني، فيقولون: يا محمد اشفع لنا إلى ربك فليقض بيننا. قال: فأقول: نعم، فآتي باب الجنة فآخذ بحلقة الباب فاستفتح، فيقال: من أنت؟ فأقول: محمد، فيفتح لي فأخر ساجدا، فأحمد ربي عز وجل بمحامد لم يحمده بها أحد كان قبلي ولا يحمده بها أحد كان بعدي. فيقول: ارفع رأسك، وقل يسمع منك، وسل تعطه، واشفع تشفع فيقول: أي رب أمتي أمتي. فيقال: أخرج من كان في شعيرة من إيمان، قال: فأخرجهم ثم أخر ساجدا فأحمده بمحامد لم يحمده بها أحد كان قبلي ولا يحمده بها أحد كان بعدي فيقال لي: ارفع رأسك، وسل تعطه واشفع تشفع، فأقول: أي رب أمتي أمتي. فيقال: أخرج من كان في قلبه مثقال برة من إيمان. قال: فأخرجهم. قال: ثم أخر ساجدا فأقول مثل ذلك. فيقال: من كان في قلبه مثقال ذرة قلبه مثقال من إيمان. قال: فأخرجهم.
