On the day of Uhud, the polytheists were routed. Then Iblis, may Allah curse him, cried out, "Servants of Allah, watch your rear!" So the front ranks turned back and clashed with those behind them. Hudhayfa caught sight of the scene and saw that the man being struck was his own father, al-Yaman. He shouted, "Servants of Allah, my father, my father!"She said, "By Allah, they did not stop until they had killed him."Hudhayfa said, "May Allah forgive you."Urwa said, "By Allah, a trace of that goodness remained in Hudhayfa until he met Allah."
لما كان يوم أحد هزم المشركون فصرخ إبليس لعنة الله عليه- أي أي عباد الله أخراكم، فرجعت أولاهم، فأجتلدت هي وأخراهم، فبصر حذيفة فإذا هو بأبيه اليمان، فقال: أي عباد الله أبي أبي قال: قالت: فو الله ما احتجزوا حتى قتلوه، فقال حذيفة: يغفر الله لكم. قال عروة: فو الله ما زالت في حذيفة بقية خير حتى لحق بالله.
