When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished the battle of Badr, he sent two messengers of glad tidings to the people of Madinah. He sent Zayd bin Haritha to the people of the lower part of the city and Abdullah bin Rawaha to the people of the upper part, to bring them news of Allah's victory granted to His Prophet ﷺ.Zayd bin Haritha arrived just as his son Usama had finished smoothing the dirt over the grave of Ruqayya, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Someone said to him, "That is your father, who has just arrived."Usama said, "I came and found him standing before the people, announcing, 'Utba bin Rabia, Shayba bin Rabia, Abu Jahl bin Hisham, Nabih, Munabbih, and Umaya bin Khalaf have been killed.'I said, 'Father, is this true?'He replied, 'Yes, by Allah, my son.'"
Hakim (3/217-218) narrated it through the hadith of Yunus bin Bukayr, from Ibn Ishaq, who said, Abdullah bin Abu Bakr bin Hazm and Salih bin Abu Umama bin Sahl told me, from his father, who said, and then he mentioned it. Hakim said, sahih according to the criteria of Muslim. Its chain is hasan because of Ibn Ishaq, who is a mudallis, but he stated clearly that he heard it directly. Nabih and Munabbih were the two sons of Hajjaj.Ibn Hisham mentioned it in his Sirah (1/642-643) through another route similar to it, and added, among those killed from the chiefs of Quraysh, "and Zama bin Aswad, and Abu Bakhtari al-Aas bin Hisham."
