The Prophet ﷺ said, "Every prophet was given a request," or he said, "Every prophet had a supplication that he made and it was answered. I have reserved my supplication as intercession for my nation on the Day of Resurrection."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: كل نبي سأل سؤالا أو قال: لكل نبي دعوة قد دعا بها فاستجيب، فجعلت دعوتي شفاعة لأمتي يوم القيامة.
Bukhari reported it in the Book of Supplications (6305), and Muslim in the Book of Faith (344:200), both from the hadith of Mutamir, from his father, from Anas, and he mentioned it. The wording given here is that of Bukhari. As for Muslim, he referred to the hadith of Qatada from Anas, except that it does not contain "and it was answered." The rest is the same.
