The Messenger of Allah ﷺ established bonds of brotherhood between his companions. He paired Salman with Abu Darda, and he paired Awf bin Malik with Saab bin Jathama.
آخى رسول الله ﷺ بين أصحابه: آخى بين سلمان وأبي الدرداء، وآخى بين عوف بن مالك والصعب بن جثامة.

Abu Yaala (3404) narrated it from Qutn bin Nusayr, who said, Jafar bin Sulayman narrated to us, Thabit narrated to us, from Anas, who said, then he mentioned it. Its chain is hasan because of Qutn bin Nusayr and Jafar bin Sulayman, for the two of them make the hadith hasan. Haythami said in al-Majma (8/171), "Abu Yaala narrated it, and its men are the men of the Sahih."
