Asma bint Abu Bakr reported,

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ departed and Abu Bakr left with him, Abu Bakr took all of his wealth along with him, five thousand or six thousand dirhams.She said, "He took it all with him. Then my grandfather Abu Quhafa, who had lost his sight, came in to us and said, 'By Allah, I think he has wounded you by taking his wealth along with himself.'"She said, "I replied, 'Not at all, father. He has left us plenty of good behind.'"She said, "I took some stones and placed them in a niche in the house where my father used to keep his money. Then I covered them with a cloth, took my grandfather's hand, and said, 'Father, place your hand on this wealth.'"She said, "He placed his hand on it and said, 'There is no harm. If he has left this for you, then he has done well, and in this there is enough to sustain you.'"She said, "By Allah, he had left us nothing, but I only wanted to set the old man's mind at ease."

عن أسماء بنت أبي بكر، قالت

لما خرج رسول الله ﷺ وخرج معه أبو بكر، احتمل أبو بكر، ماله كله معه: خمسة آلاف درهم، أو ستة آلاف درهم قالت: وانطلق بها معه. قالت: فدخل علينا جدي أبو قحافة وقد ذهب بصره، فقال: والله إني لأراه قد فجعكم بماله مع نفسه، قالت: قلت: كلا يا أبه، إنه قد ترك لنا خيرا كثيرا. قالت: قلت: كلا يا أبه، إنه قد ترك لنا خيرا كثيرا. قالت: فأخذت أحجارا، فوضعتها كوة البيت، كان أبي يضع فيها ماله، ثم وضع عليها ثوبا، ثم أخذت بيده، فقلت: يا أبه، ضع يدك على هذا المال، قالت: فوضع يده عليه فقال: لا بأس، إن كان قد ترك لكم هذا، فقد أحسن، وفي هذا لكم بلاغ، قالت: ولا والله ما ترك لنا شيئا، ولكني قد أردت أن أسكن الشيخ بذلك.
