The Prophet ﷺ was brought Buraq on the night of his ascension, saddled and bridled, to ride. The animal proved difficult with him, so Jibreel said to it, "What makes you behave this way? By Allah, no one more honored before Allah than him has ever ridden you." At that, it broke out in a sweat.
أتى النبي ﷺ بالبراق ليلة أسري به مسترجا ملجما يركبه، فاستصعب عليه، فقال له جبريل: ما يحملك على هذا. فوالله ما ركبك أحد أكرم على الله منه، فارفض عرقا.
Abdul-Razzaq narrated it in his Tafsir (1533), and Imam Ahmad narrated it from him (12672), and Tirmidhi (3131) narrated it, via the route of Abdul-Razzaq, from Maamar, from Qatada, from Anas, and he related the hadith. Its isnad is sahih. Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan gharib hadith, we do not know it except through the hadith of Abdul-Razzaq." His statement, "farfadh," means it flowed.
